2026 Well Water Checkup

If you own a private well, the District invites you to participate in our 2026 Well Water Checkup. Annual water testing is recommended for well owners to help ensure your drinking water is safe and free from harmful contaminants.

Tests cost $15 per sample (cash or check).
The first 30 well owners to pick up a sampling kit from our office will receive one free test.

How to Participate

February 17 – March 3 | 9:00am – 4:00pm

Pick up a water testing kit at the District office. Each kit includes step-by-step instructions and all supplies needed to collect your sample. Bring $15 cash or check per test.

Location: District Office, 1124 Regal Row, Austin, Texas

March 4 | 8:00 – 11:00am

Return your completed water sample to the District office.  

Important: For accurate bacteria results, collect your water sample no earlier than March 3 at 3:00pm Samples collected too early may not provide reliable results. Be sure to keep them refrigerated.

March 5 | 1:00 – 2:30pm

Join the Texas Well Owner Network, the District, Southwestern Travis County Groundwater Conservation District, and Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District for an easy-to-understand discussion of your test results. The session will also cover well protection tips and recommendations for addressing potential contamination.

Location: Wimberley Village Library, 400 FM 2325, Wimberley, Texas

We encourage all well owners to attend if possible. If you’re unable to join the workshop, your test results will be emailed to you within a couple of weeks.
