Groundwater Conservation Districts (GCDs) are integral parts of both Groundwater Management Areas (GMAs) and Regional Water Planning Groups.
GMAs are geographically defined regions based on aquifer boundaries. GCDs in each GMA work together to coordinate groundwater management planning, including setting Desired Future Conditions (DFCs).These DFCs are then incorporated into the Regional Water Plan, which is developed by the Regional Water Planning Group.
The District is part of GMA 10 and the Region K Water Planning Group.
