Hydrogeological and Geochemical Study of the Lower Trinity Aquifer

Topic: Sustainable Yield, Groundwater Modeling, and DFCs
Source: LRE/Spheros
Format: Report
Year: 2026

This report summarizes the work LRE Water completed under the BSEACD Hydrogeological and Geochemical Study of the Lower Trinity Aquifer. The purpose of the study was to improve understanding of groundwater quality and stratigraphy of the Lower Trinity Aquifer based on currently available geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical information. The results of this study support the BSEACD’s ultimate objective of identifying qualitative and quantitative conditions that lead to unreasonable negative impacts for groundwater users. This study builds on previous Trinity Aquifer work in Hays and Travis counties and specifically advances current knowledge about the LTA beneath BSEACD by generating new rock geochemistry data and extending the local stratigraphic model towards the eastern extent of the District.
